A Family Secret

Although quite rare, I find myself at a loss lately and I feel obligated to type something out. Anything, really, so here goes...

.1. Kul 3am w2intu bkheir. Happy Eid!

.2. I have a new Egyptian celebrity crush, but I’ve already forgotten his name. I must remember quick, before another woman scoops him up and marries him…am still recovering from my former and inaugural Arab celebrity love interest: Tamer Hagras (the betrayal of it all!).

.3. Am considering going to Dubai & Gaza this coming summer; thinking of taking six weeks off work and splitting my time between the two areas. I miss my family dearly and feel as though I’ve been away for much too long. Shall keep you posted on this.

Horrible, really. Most especially because I promised myself I would not travel anywhere for 12 months (notwithstanding: Denver, Montreal & Toronto). By summer, it’ll have been approximately seven months, so this is really quite good of me. I will deserve a holiday by that time.

.4. I love receiving Holiday greetings in the mail. Am an old fashioned sort of girl and treasure the written word. Although we’re well into January, I received another card today. How exciting! I’ve not opened it yet; have decided to save it for my morning read over herbal tea tomorrow…

.5. A Female Family Secret: We don’t use cleansers to remove eye makeup. Rather, olive oil. Trust me & try it. Only remember to not smear too much olive oil on to the cotton, or else your eyes will be foggy for quite some time. And it’s also best to keep and use a separate towel, as olive oil doesn’t wash off with water, and so your skin will be extra soft…but your small face towel will have light smudges of olive oil on it (no makeup, though!).

.6. Sorry have not been more entertaining as of late…

Luminous Maha,

I wish I were more fluent in my knowledge of Dubai and Gaza. That way, I could decide whether to worry about your travelling there. However, since you are missing family, I wholly understand. It's wrenching being far from our beloved, and missing the everyday.

Olive oil, eh? As an Italian, I'd heard of its cosmetic properties, but I will definitely take your advice; maybe it will help with the premature crow's feet as well. I'm too young to look old, etc. *chuckle* Ah, vanity.

Love & hugs,
Espy

Darling Espy -- How did I miss this comment of yours?!

Re your worry >> Gaza may be a potential place of worry, but let's hope not. And I promise to always blog from whichever part of the world shelters me...always.

Dubai...the only thing you'll need to worry about there is my potential declaration of bankruptcy (bankrupcy?)...going broke...the extravangace / extravagence of that part of the world is excessive, and when in Rome...

You're Italian? And here I thought you were Latina. Why did I think that? Because of that Enrique Iglesias song something Esperanza. *I hang my head in shame that he serves as my point of reference for anything*.

Yes >> Olive oil is one of God's many gifts which still remains and will work wonders on your body. Any and all parts of your body. So will honey; especially if you have dry skin or dry hair.

Let me know if you try the olive oil!

Well, Espy's just a nickname. My name is Daniela...but of course, that could be interpreted as Latina, as well! ;-)

Thank you for promising to continue blogging. I really hope you decide, and are able, to post photos of the areas as well.

I have tried the olive oil on both my skin and hair, and it really is wonderful. Such softness and pliability! Thank you, again.

Espy/Daniela/Ella/Dani, whatever I'm being called, these days.

I knew an Italian Daniela in high school >> wonder if you're related, lol.

Trust me; now that am blogging again, I will *always* keep blogging (no matter to which hole in the wall I travel) and try to post pretty photos...

Well done on the olive oil scenario! Now, drizzle a little oregano on there and you're all set ;)

I love that word: Pliable.

Have a brilliant day, love.
