A Blogger Blocked

I’m not quite certain what’s happening to me, but I’ve started writing over eight blog entries, none of which I’ve been able to complete. I stare at them daily, adding a few words in each paragraph, never really knowing where the story or the anecdote are headed.

It’s my form of reverse writer’s block; I can start, but then I have no idea where to go. So all of these entries are just sitting around doing nothing. Staring at me. Begging me to tell them what happens next.

It’s a little creepy.

Right. So. Is there anything you want me to write about? Email or comment…

I find that to be the best aspect of blogging though, that you can choose to write about nothing, which in itself says so much. When one is writing a book, its important to tell tale/argue a case/reveal facts etc. But this, this is blogging and it costs nothing- meaning that you and I can write down what we want, when we want and subject lurkers on our pages to three of the most useless moments they have spent all day. You see why I love blogging?

ok.. so something to write about.. well, arrite. I have a really good friend back home in Canada, Laura. Laura and I figured out a while into our friendship that there were goign to be moments when we were having dinner/coffee/walking in the forest behind our school/etc. when we just ran out of words to say, you know when we got comfortable in each other's presence and didn't need to fill the silences with chit chat that lead nowhere. We both liked this setup because we could be with our own thoughts when we wanted to be.

But a few years into university, we started to see eahc other a lot less, although we remained close. Then, we came up with a game. It doesn't have a name, but its rues are simple.

Lets say I pick a topic, say "favourite colour", you tell me and then I tell you. Simple. Next turn, you pick a topic, vice versa and on and on. The topics can be personal, depending on your comfort level, but remember you have to answer yourself too.

So.. since you are looking for things to write about.. shall I pick a topic?

*silence..

ok..I'll take that as a yes, hmm..

Tell us/me about a time/moment in your life, when you walked away thinking that wow, that was a moment of clarity. I mean, a moment of zen that changed your view about something because you saw it for what it was, rather than theough fake lenses, lets say.

ok.. shoot. I promise I shall respond too.

That was a long question for a rookie at this game, my bad. And along comment too, but I'll be damned if I apologise for that! :P

Write about having to fast and go to your French classes. Surely there is something humorous there.

I'm waiting for the in-depth analysis of the shittastic jewelry of a certain movie person who attracts insane fans.

I can't help it. I need to know why it's so bad. :) Much more interesting than who he bangs or who wants to bag him.

oooh, all of them good ideas; Uzi, I am thinking thinking thinking and trying to find something. It may take me a wee bit of time to find a moment of clarity about which I can write here!

Mo, also an excellent idea >> Will write about that as well!

Hi Mirtika & Welcome. Hmmmm...simply put, I'm not one for appreciating "bangles" that look like they (1) belong on a Christmas tree (2) should be eaten or (3) would get caught in my hair. Because when I *do* (it really is only a matter of time before he asks for my number) bag Gerry Butler, those bangles will be my primary concern ;)

Cheers,

Man, I am BAD at this. All I can think about is food & frivolity. When I don't know what to write, I write down a favourite recipe, but that's a fairly insensitive suggestion for you at the moment.

Hmm.

OK, where do you shop for clothes? That'll be the "frivolity."

XOXOXOX

Alas, Espy, there is no "frivolty" on this blog. Where crack exists, info on shopping also exists! I promise to write about that, too!! Only, consider yourself forewarned because I hate shopping. Unless it's for crack or furniture...or a condominium, or a movie. Mayhaps a sail boat?

eep.

I'm happy you're over your block, it just wouldn't be right without this place.
