That's amazing that he contacted you six years later to apologise.

Some men are just so good, aren't they?

Scott sounds like a really amazing guy. That's hilarious about the can of beer and what he says about her field of medicine!!!!

That you're a "muppet" is hilarious, Maha! I don't even know where you come up with these things, lol! :D

I am going to take Scott advice to heart. You can tell him that.

hugs,

Scott is correct, and there are few men who would be willing to say that beyond a circle of male friends.

I have to admit, Maha, any smart man (or woman) would be hard pressed to have you in his life and then simply let you go and not think about you again. It comes as no surprise to me that he contacted you six years later. He's clearly a smart man.

His wife must be a really great sport because that beer can thing is hilarious!

I like that you call yourself a 'muppet' because I'd not heard that word since Jim Hensen used it ;)
Salaam and sorry for the double post,

It took him SIX YEARS to apologise? HOly fuck, Maha, you are a nicer woman than me aged 27 and 33 and probably 56 ;)

I guess it's cool that he didn't hurt you that much from what you're saying, it's probably why it was fine a few years later.

He sounds like he's a good guy and honeslt,y I don't know that many boys who would go out of their way years later to contact someone they fucked over. The ones I know don't go after a woman weeks later to apologise because they NEVER DO ANYTHING WRONG the fucking losers.

Cool advice, thanks scott. -lily

Maha,

I was googling information on a cousin of mine with the same name in Greece and I came across your blog, and man, I was surprised. It's me, George Logaras from Brookfield High School. I need to admit that I don't remember you that well, but I do remember you, I remember your glasses. So, I was reading your post and I was interested to see what why my name was in it, well, I almost fell out of my chair and was instantly embarrassed when I came across my part in your story. I thought long and hard trying to remember the incident, the place, the year, something that would trigger my memory of uttering those words. Well I can’t remember, and I thought “Man, she has me confused with one of my knucklehead buddies”. Well, I think it’s hard to confuse a name like George Logaras, and to recall that name 18 years later, there must be no mistake. I looked back at those days at Brookfield and I have great memories that I often draw on, and still have great friends from then. I really thought I did my best back then to be a “good guy”. Obviously, I remember more of the good then the bad. So, as I continued to read your post it was a story of an apology from a guy several years later who realized he made a mistake. Well, here it is, an apology from a man who was once a boy (pretending he was a man), who wants to say “I’m sorry”. I am embarrassed for ever saying anything close to that. This apology is 18 years late, and I can’t believe I came across your blog, but I did, and in some ways I guess I was meant to. No need to respond, no need to accept or decline the apology. I just want you to know that I hate the thought that I could have been so cruel at a super sensitive time in someone’s life. You look great, maybe should have said that then eh!

George Logaras? Of Fiori Guido and George Logaras? Oh my God, this is so strange - if you'd Googled your cousin last week, you would have never found this!

I don't even know what to. I mean. WOW!

First of all: Apology accepted, on behalf of my 15 year old self. It's so very kind of you to step out from beyond your computer screen and apologize...

Second: Thank you, on behalf of all 15 year old girls, for recognizing that that age is so sensitive and gentle. If you have a son, tell him to step gently when a girl crushes on him; we are too tender then and the first boy who tells you you're "ugly" tends to leave an imprint :o)

Third: If you look me up in the yearbook, I was in the same grade as Krista (the one you dated - if broke my heart, so, George!)...

That is HYSTERICAL that you remember my glasses, but not surprising because they were *gigantic*! Now that I think about it, I wonder if you mistook THEM for a unibrow ;)

I hope you're well and happy and still playing soccer.

Thank you, so much, once again.

And then came the deluge.

And then he told me.

The bastard!

I think we should blame him. Maybe you can beat him up? :) (that was a complete joke - he's a nice man!)

I can't imagine anything else would jog your memory. I was a complete and total geek with big glasses. That's about it. Oh! I wasn't one of the cool girls, although I was knew most everyone (like Tanya of Tanya & Fiore...we were in the same grade). I wasn't cool because of the glasses, I'm certain. That and the fact that I didn't party - no party, no drinking, no dating.
