The Anchor

It’s the little things that make returning home feel like an actual homecoming. Like this morning, when I walked into my favourite coffee shop, Cafe Morala (734 Bank St), one of the always amazing staff greeted me so very warmly as a welcome back from my travels; he’d been keeping up with things here, on instagram (hia! hello!). He really was so lovely ❤️.

Also, like our third year of Game of Thrones weekly viewing at P’s. For the last two weeks, I’ve been watching GOT after the fact, and then contributing to our 16 person WhatsApp group which often brings out loud laughs. Sitting in my usual chair, with the same beloved faces across from me and watching this episode? Homecoming.

I guess. I guess I am slowly re-sketching each link in the chain to my anchor.

Today, I am grateful for:
1. The Game of Thrones writing team. I didn’t think you could surprise us after all of this time, but surprise us you did. Our room erupted with actual cheers.
2. Walking and shopping with momma. It’s just nice to spend time together.
3. Learning how to shut down unkind thoughts, and to weaken the power of stubborn ones lingering.
