I've often wondered what Malcolm X would have to say in today's anti-Muslim world & growing anti-religion North America. I would pay a pretty penny to watch him stand and challenge advocates of either. For so many reasons, it was a sad day when he died.

My parents had this on our fridge while I was growing up. I'm a white man and was born and raised in California and my parents thought that one of the problems of our own community is this very sentiment. I look around me now and I see even more of it today. Most of us don't have an Identity and don't stand for anything and so we've started falling for every stupid thing that comes along. This may be one of the greatest challenges to the 'white' community of which I am a part.
My family took on the fights of others and knew the parents of Hamza Yusuf. California activists are a small group and hippies have a way of finding one another!
